(Kingston, JA/New York/NY - 10, October 2006) Gargamel Music, Inc. is happy to announce the official Canadian release today of international reggae icon Buju Banton's critically acclaimed new album, Too Bad, the first full-length project from Banton's Gargamel Music label. The album will street on October 24 in the UK and Europe.

It’s been three-and-a-half years since Buju Banton’s Grammy- nominated Friends For Life, but well worth the wait as the iconic deejay or yore returns to his roots delivering his first pure dancehall collection since the days of Mr. Mention (1992) and Voice of Jamaica (1993).
Several of the tracks on Too Bad are already certified hits with the core audience: “Me & Oonu” on the classic Surfari’s “Wipe Out” riddim hit #3 on BBC 1Xtra’s Top 10 Dancehall Chart and recently moved up two notches to #14 on Hot 102 Jamaica's Weekly Top 30; “Til It Bend” reached #3 on RETV’s Weekly Dancehall Chart; “Hey Boy” (aka “Talk To Me”) peaked at #4 on Jamaica’s Weekly Top 30 chart.

The blazing street single “Nothing,” produced by Banton and his Gargamel production crew, currently sits at #6 on the RETV chart and #5 on Jamaica's Weekly Top 30. The Buju Banton "Nothing" REFIX video/100 Watt Medley, featuring Ghost, East Coast, Mr. Vegas, New Kidz, Assaasin, Mitch and Mr. Lex, has now been completed and will be serviced to key video outlets next week.

Since the initial US release on September 12th, Buju Banton’s Too Bad has received an overwhelming amount of rave reviews from a variety of media outlets, including AllMusic.com, Associated Press, Billboard, HardbeatNews.com, NiceUp.com, Trace212, Village Voice and AllHipHop.Com...See below excerpt:

"The language is plain and simple. No hype, pop sheen, just 17 raw tracks that will undoubtedly take a 1990's certified reggae lover down memory lane. Why is it that an ostracized, slicktalking, Rastaman veteran deejay had to usher in a wicked dancehall collectable; something the games been missing since the turn of the century? The type of heart thumping music the new millennium generation inherited but sadly was unable to reproduce. No dutty wining or thunder clapping is necessary (maybe a lickle gangsta rocking) when vibin' to Too Bad (Gargamel), Buju Banton's vicious new independent project."
